Another blast, from a cloudy Friday to a sunny Sunday
I began by spending too time unsuccessfully trying to setup the meatsmoke cam. I hope the Alumni Conference on Utne and others will forgive me. A bad cable, a lack of understanding of DHCP, and plugging the ethernet tap into the wrong socket foiled the broadcast plans. We should be in good shape for next year though.
Again I helped Johanna run the Alumni Lounge Coffeehouse, booking music folk. Thanks players patrons! We recorded a good bit of Strange Country, hopefully a mix will make it outta the can.
The full schedule wasn't so well realized as we had a couple cancelations. No one came for yoga, no one came for open mic recording, and i didn't get the DJ system going in stereo which i think, along with my fatigue, and lack of suitable lighting contributed to a lack of dance dance dance..
I learned a lot about sound though, Mark et al helped get prayer flags going, it will be really neat to exchange flags between reuions and renn fayre, an inter generataional signaling system!
Nobody came to the yoga spots i'd offered, but i did work out a pretty good routine at last and i'm generally humbled and inspired to become a better yogi.
Meatsmoke wise things went very smoothly from my periferal observation point. New hands are taking on more and more tasks and this is paying off in yummy wears..
Finding my place at renn fayre, to the point of forgetting it, seemed to be my theme this year, next time i'll try to facilitate more, and do less.
